Orangeries |
A Clifton Joinery timber Conservatory or Orangery is a most exciting and stylish addition to any home. From initial designs we create and manufacture individually designed hardwood conservatories and orangeries to transform living spaces, creating rooms that let you enjoy the lightness of the outdoor environment, whatever the weather.
We can offer you a wide choice, anything from a lean-to conservatory, a Victorian or Edwardian conservatory or orangery through to a completely bespoke design. The technology behind our manufacturing process which includes our timber windows, doors, bi-folds and lantern roofs, means that we can also create the clean contemporary designs that work well with modern properties.
Using a matrix of sizes underwritten by our structural engineer every conservatory or orangery made is designed to meet current British standards. Structural tie-bars to be included where necessary and if building regulation approval is required full structural calculations can be supplied.
Ironmongery
Our joinery is of exceptional standard so we only use the very highest quality ironmongery to complement it. We can supply a variety of finishes and styles to suit your requirements or to match existing ironmongery.
Orangery and Conservatory Timber Options
We use primarily solid timber, machined and detailed in our own workshop. Idigbo is very often used as our standard timber. It has excellent durability and lifespan and takes either a clear or painted finish extremely well. A frequent alternative is Red Grandis though other species such as Accoya are also available.

Hardware
There are a range of styles and finishes available. We can combine modern practical advantages such as automated skylight ventilation and a range of guttering options.
Timber Finish
We offer a range of finishes to suit the location, timber and your preferences. When a painted finish is required, we use three coats of micro-porous paint and we offer five different stained finishes which are applied in two coats. Paint and stain finishes are spray applied in the factory to ensure quality and we can provide timber samples if required.
Glass Options and Specifications
A range of double glazed units can be accommodated. We always use softcoat low e glass units filled with argon gas for improved thermal efficiency and we fit various other options to improve “u” values or to ensure greater security. Solar control, Easy-Clean and etched or patterned glass can also be incorporated as can apertures for cat flaps if required.
Quality Craftsmanship
Your timber conservatory or orangery is machined, joined, finished and the walling glazed in our workshop by our own highly skilled and qualified joiners. The whole process is under our control and your conservatory leaves our workshop fully factory finished, wrapped and ready for installation.
Customisable Sections
At Clifton Joinery we believe in customisable products. We can alter stile or rail widths, rafter spacing and other aspects to your own design or to maximise glass area, finish and glass specifications to suit you and ironmongery options from a vast range of suppliers. Our experience of conservatory manufacture delivers the quality of product for which Clifton Joinery is renowned whilst still giving you complete control and the ability to fully personalise your conservatory or orangery.
