We build Bifold doors in our own workshop to the very highest of standards. Each set is individually customised using your own choice of timber, ironmongery and finish. Full manufacturing drawings are produced to your exact dimensions for final approval.
These door systems are suited to both existing and new builds and can be used in various applications - for internal space conversion of two adjacent areas or for bringing the outside in. In commercial spheres they can be used to welcome clients through a wide storefront or to bring pavement café culture to your restaurant.
Ironmongery – Operating Gear
We only use the very best components and central to our philosophy is the use of Centor© sliding folding ironmongery. We consider it to be the best sliding folding system available in the world today. It incorporates a top hung roller system to carry the weight of the doors thereby give an effortless operation. Available in a range of options and finishes it will cope with various weight capacities and can be fitted to an opening of up to 16 metres wide! The door sets can either open inwards or outwards with configurations to match your own specifications combined with security and weathering capabilities second to none. We can even incorporate aluminium sills to comply with DDA access requirements. (Disability Discrimination Act).
Our top hung system is vastly superior to bottom mounted versions with none of the “drag” associated with dirt and debris building up in a bottom groove. Ours is also capable of fine adjustment to ensure smooth operation and a perfect seal for years to come, whatever the weather!
Timber
We use primarily solid timber for our bifold doors, machined and detailed in our own workshop. Idigbo is very often used as our standard timber. It has excellent durability and lifespan and takes either a clear or painted finish extremely well. A frequent alternative is Prime European Oak, chosen for its superior durability over the cheaper American White Oak. We have also manufactured sets in American Black Walnut – a stunning timber. Many other species are also available. We have a Chain of Custody (CoC) Licence and can prove the source and therefore the sustainability of FSC timber used in manufacture.
Door furniture etc.
Handles are selected by the customer. There’s a vast range of styles and finishes available. We can also source ironmongery to match existing handles / styles within a property.
Timber Finish
We offer a range of finishes to suit the location, timber and your preferences. When a painted finish is required, we use three coats of micro-porous paint – any colour, to your taste. Paint finishes are spray applied in the factory. We use top quality coatings from Teknos which allow us to offer up to a 10 year guarantee on the life of the finish. We also offer a range of oils and varnishes to protect and enhance. We can prepare samples for you whenever needed.
Glass Options and Specifications
A range of double glazed units can be accommodated. We always use softcoat low e glass units filled with argon gas for improved thermal efficiency and we fit various other options to improve “u” values or to ensure greater security, laminated glass for example. Etched or patterned glass can also be incorporated, and we don’t forget your pets – we even make special openings for cat flaps.
Quality Craftsmanship
Your doors are machined, joined, finished and glazed in our workshop by our own highly skilled and qualified joiners. Please be aware that many of our competitors use dowelled joints which are not as robust and will not last as long as our wedged mortice and tenon joints. The whole process is under our control and the end product leaves our workshop fully factory finished, wrapped and ready for installation.
Fully Customisable

We can alter stile or rail widths to your own design or to maximise glass area, finish and glass specifications to suit you and ironmongery options from a vast range of suppliers.
